Rebecca and Zack chose Weko Beach for their wedding because Michigan has always felt like home to their families, even though they now live in Chicago. The day began with a happy, emotional first look at Rebecca’s parents’ home, followed by a quiet moment with their dog Daisy before heading to the beach.
They envisioned photos that felt energetic and true to who they are, so the focus stayed on natural movement, easy laughter, and the small in-between moments that unfolded on their own. Their ceremony in the sand was filled with happy tears, big smiles, and the comfort of being surrounded by their closest people.
The celebration continued at the pavilion with champagne, conversation, and time to be fully present as the sun set over the lake. Their gallery is bright, joyful, and honest, capturing the feeling they shared throughout the day: this is just the beginning.

We had an amazing experience working with Cat as our wedding photographer. She was helpful from start to finish - she even gave me guidance on the “day-of timeline” to ensure we had adequate time to capture all the pre-ceremony photo opportunities that we wanted without feeling rushed. Both Cat and her second photographer, Bethany, were very professional, but also extremely fun to shoot with. They made us feel comfortable and relaxed - I never felt awkward or artificially posed - which gave our photos the genuine and “true to ourselves” vibe that we wanted. And the photos came out absolutely gorgeous! I am so pleased with the quality and the variety of the photos. The only hard part is deciding which of the many, many beautiful options I’m going to print!
